Together Through the Chaos
Who wants to work on tasks together with others, whether at work, in the circle of friends, in the family or in clubs, must be aware that there are two coarse types of people of each: in terms of approach to tasks and the character.
The Approaches
A) Theorist
For them, it is important to grasp a task thoroughly and to find an optimal solution for it. Theorists like to spend enough time to make sure that the solution found is really optimal, and only at the very end of this path they begin to prepare for the work, and only after this they begin the actual work. However, due to the good preparation, the work can be carried out quickly and usually without problems.
A theorist can work best if he/she is involved at an early stage to have sufficient lead time for planning and preparation. Under pressure of time, a theorist does not feel well, and changing conditions are a horror for a theorist.
B) Practitioner
As a rule, a practitioner finds fast, expedient, but often exotic solutions to problems. The advantage of the practitioner is that he does not need a lead time, but can tackle a problem ad hoc. The better the materials and lead time, the better the solution, but in the end, only temporaries will be built here.
Practitioners find themselves called to intervene when individual problems have been overlooked by theorists, occur spontaneously, or at worst have a group of pure practitioners tackling a problem. Even with a lot of lead time, practitioners' solutions will not get much better, it will only make sure that the necessary materials are available and less improvising.
The Characters
1) Loner
The crony of the loners is "If I do it myself, it goes faster and I know for sure that it was done properly". On a small scale, that certainly makes sense, and is the most efficient way of working of all. For larger tasks or for tasks that are worked on together by a group of people, a loner is most likely to take on a clearly defined subtask, and can rest assured that the rest of the tasks will be done by the others without worrying about them to take care of.
To optimally integrate a loner into a heterogeneous team, meetings should be kept to a minimum with him/her in frequency and length, and apart from that, strategy meetings should be conducted in a smaller circle without him/her. Nevertheless, the flow of information should be maintained and the loner should be informed by protocol of the meeting or memo, what was worked out there. Such a free space with clearly defined external interactions mean that the loner can do his job most efficiently and is nevertheless optimally integrated in the teamwork.
2) Team Player
The credo of team players is "one group is stronger than one, and the group balances individual weaknesses with the strengths of others." Especially with new, complex problems in which a general approach to the problem must first be worked out, many of the ideas of many people are more likely to produce the perfect solution than would be the case with a loner who may have a good approach, but not necessarily the most efficient. In addition, the team always has the possibility that a team member can already contribute prior experience in an area that is helpful in solving the problem.
In order to optimally integrate a team player into a heterogeneous team, one should divide him / her away from large meetings into small work groups that work redundantly like a swarm and stay in close contact via chat or proximity.
It's the Mix!
In working life, the different ways of working and characters will presumably be reflected in corresponding positions of a company. Team players are more likely to be on the executive level, while loners tend to do the down-to-earth work, theorists will find themselves more in the planning, practitioners on the other hand in performing tasks.
It's getting complicated when these individuals meet in smaller groups such as friends or clubs and there are common things to do, such as planning and carrying out joint activities. Because often the understanding of this heterogeneity is lacking, and only their own strengths are taken as a measure of things, while misjudging the strengths of others or their own weaknesses.
Especially here it is important that everyone can contribute as it suits their own preferences and one is not pressed into uncomfortable roles.
to-do-go helps you!
Everyone can live out their own strengths with to-do-go. Theoreticians can think about the tasks that have to be done and record them as to-do lists, as well as making the necessary preparations, such as creating shopping lists or providing tools. In addition, procedures can be recorded as "concepts" in to-do-go in order to document the proven plans for the future as well. Practitioners, on the other hand, can pick the individual tasks from the list that suits them best. Team players can be found in the board of an association again or find together at a "duty days", commonly working off tasks. Loners, on the other hand, are happy when they can just pick up a job from the to-do list without having to make an awkward appointment with others.
Here to-do-go can serve as an interface where everyone can use their individual strengths without exposing their own weaknesses to others. And because to-do-go is available on both mobile devices and PCs / notebooks, everyone can use their favorite device and contribute on the go on their smartphone , at home on the PC or even at work spontaneously, without having to install anything.
How to Start?
It is best to create a "sphere" for the family, for each club and every circle of friends in to-do-go, if there is not already a sphere here (just ask). In each of the spheres, you invite the other members by e-mail. And through the rights management of to-do-go you can (but do not have to) create different groups of people within the sphere, granting the groups different access rights to categories of the sphere. In particular, there is a distinction as to who can edit tasks or just mark them as "done", who has administrative access, or who can only access a category by read-only, or who may not even see a category, as it is only there for Interas.
In addition, there are various modules besides the to-do lists, such as shared shopping lists for the family or within a club, the ability to deposit continuous texts, such as minutes of the last club meeting. Or to-do list templates to make recurring tasks due on a regular basis, manually or even fully automatically.
And all this is free at to-do-go! All you have to do is log in and get started right away.
